Yes, I am a slacker. Yes, it has been a month since my last post.
Work sucked away most of my time. I was not meant to be a full-time 5 day a week hygienist. Period. That's all I need to say. Most nights I came home from work cranky, tired, and with a headache. Then would have to attempt to do homework before going to bed. So when we did have a weekend it was spent at home doing chores, homework, and trying to regroup before the week started again. Nothing excited to report.
But. I do have some happy news to report.
I am officially done with school. 100% done, as in, degree holding done. Boom. Masters. It was an unbelievable relief to know I was done. I still need to study to take a certification exam in September. Right now I haven't kicked my studying quite into gear the way I should... I have just been enjoying the fact that I don't have homework to worry about. I've already read a few books for fun. I've been lazy. We have had friends over for a BBQ, done some shopping to prepare for my trip home to the states in a week, and just enjoyed the decrease in stress. In a word, wonderful.
In addition to enjoying the increase in extra time, I have found another future adventure for us. I booked another cruise (judge if you want) for February over our anniversary. This cruise leaves out of Barcelona and the itinerary looks like this:
Day 1 - Leave Barcelona
Day 2 - At Sea
Day 3 - Casablanca
Day 4 - At Sea
Day 5- Funchal, Madeira
Day 6 - Arrecife, Canary Islands
Day 7 - At Sea
Day 8 - Malaga, Spain
Day 9 - At Sea
Day 10 - Barcelona
We plan to get to Barcelona a few days early to have time to explore - I am excited for Barcelona. It is definitely on my bucket list. This cruise has a few more at sea days than our other one, which I'm excited about. I'm planning for us to have more time to actually be bums and relax - hang out at the pool, read books, whatever strikes us. I can't wait.
As far as future plans... we don't have too much officially in the works just yet. I leave this coming week to go back to the states for a friend's wedding. I'm looking forward to spending some time with family, having some nice weather, spending time at the lake... I'm excited. I'm also looking forward to doing a bit of shopping. I get back from my trip just in time for Labor Day, and my office is taking a trip to Stockholm, Sweden. This will be my first time there. I'm not sure what to expect, but looking forward to it. Between Labor Day and when we leave on our cruise... well, I'm not sure what we will have planned. I'm thinking a few festivals and day trips. I guess we will see where the wind blows us.
